Since there is a higher than "normal" percentage of victims of childhood sexual and physical abuse in the community, and since lesbians are less likely to get good medical care than straight women, you're likely to find a higher than "normal" percentage of people with pretty serious and untreated mental illness.
So in fact, the norm for our community is quite different from the norm of the straight world.
Not only that, but many people with serious mental illness think they ARE "normal" so asking them isn't the best way to find out.
You, for instance. Your short blurb doesn't prove to me that you're "normal"--or not, for that matter. It just tells me you're not very well informed about what "normal" means. Perhaps you mean average? Which, of course, would not rule out the mental illness.
Take me, for instance. I'm abnormally intelligent. I have abnormally good physical health and stamina for my age. I had successful treatment for a mental illness. By your standards, am I normal?
