Hi there ladies-
I have been living in Washington for many years and currently find myself in the position of not having many close girlfriends. I read an article that many people are in this position due to many factors. Work, families, busy, stress etc. I do not have a lot of family nor do I work a regular job, so I have a lot of flexibility to my schedule. I find myself low on friends for many reasons. I recently lost a real good girlfriend of many years because of diverging lifestyles and it just stopped working. I really miss having that bond with a close friend, but I am not willing to be inauthentic. Other friends have long since moved away and others seem to be on different journeys than I am.
I'm in my fifties, though I often forget that because I feel so much younger. You can be 40ish to 70ish, as long we have some things in common. Some of me feeling like I am much younger than I am, is due to my lifestyle. I'm drug free and a non-smoker. Please be the same. I drink, but not much and not often. If you don't drink that's cool. I don't watch hardly any TV, as I find most programs are just a waste of time, when I could be learning, reading, doing art or projects.
I love to be outside on a nice day! Hiking, walking dogs, bike riding, . . . it would be great to meet someone who also likes to do things outside, though it's not a requirement. I also like to work out at the gym. I am a member of a local gym and work out with weight machines and hit the steam room, etc. I always feel great afterward.
Don't get me wrong, I am not a "gym rat"-- I don't go every day, only a couple times a week. I also love to relax around the house or at a coffee shop, just yaking over tea or good coffee. I am a big gardener and like to swap seeds and/or garden tips, plants, stories. I would really love to meet someone who is familiar with and at least working toward a healthy lifestyle and who is into eating heathy, etc. I eat mostly raw vegetable/fruit meals with occasional cooked dishes and meat dishes. I'm not against eating meat, I just want to incorporte more greens into my diet, less meat. I also try and make sure my food is organic, hormone free and Non GMO. If you are familiar with those things and that matters to you then we can have a lot of fun visiting local farms, trading veges/plants if you grow them, etc. I like to eat out, but it is often a challenge as most restaurant food is not organic. It would be fun to try new recipes and such together. Are you familiar with green smoothies? Yey for Vitamix! I eat this way because I desire to have a healthy body that can maintain itself and prevent illness. I don't want to be overweight, and/or grow old, sick, and feeble.
I'm not into any sort of religion. I also like all sorts of movies, going to the local art cinema in downtown Tacoma, and going to thrift stores for cool funky junk. I read a lot and enjoy conversation on a wide range of topics. Permaculture events, poetry readings, book discussions, etc would also be fun to do with a buddy. I also have a sort of warped sense of humor so please don't be too "serious" personality wise.
